Overall strategy[edit | edit source]
Very useful since it tends to be faster than most infantry - in Age of Chariots, this unit can be a potential life saver for factions such as Bach Viet or Choson, especially since in CtW they are expected to be fighting against Chinese armies, which are infantry-heavy. In Age of Empires, however, the existence of good infantry units - ie Chinese Pikemen and Phalanx - along with stronger but slower War Elephants and quicker and cheaper horse cavalry make the Renegade Chinese Warlord fairly easy prey - even for the more advanced Chinese faction. Nevertheless it can be useful as a unit for hunting down factions such as Pyu and Funan, who rely on light melee infantry.

Notes[edit | edit source]
As this unit appears in 3 different mods, it too has 6 different appearances, as befitting the differences in eras between all of them. LOST was formerly 1, but changed to 3 (because Renegade Chinese Footmen needed a LOS of 1).
