Difference in naval doctrines[edit | edit source]

For most Middle Eastern and Greek factions, the trick is all about upgrading your ships further in order to stay alive on the seas. In contrast, for the Asians and the Egyptians the trick is building the right sorts of warships since they can't be upgraded.

  • Egyptians, Celts: War Boats, Roundship
  • Asian: War Boats, Wing Barque, Swooper, Tower Barque.
  • Iberians: Longship, Roundship
  • Phoenicians: Longship, Roundship => Bireme, Trireme
  • Aegean: Longship [1] => Triakonter [2], Pentekonter [2] => Bireme [3], Trireme [3]
