Overall Strategy[edit | edit source]
Hanetay (Amharic: "swordsmen") are Guardsmen armed with the vicious shotela, making them highly effective against any and all units armed with short arms, ie daggers, clubs, swords and axes - against which they have a defensive bonus. As this bonus extends toward even cavalry units such as Light Horse and Miao Horsemen Hanetay can be used against a wide number of factions because of their combat bonus, being capable of wreaking havoc on raiding parties spearheaded by sword infantry as well as isolated pockets of melee horsemen. Along with Aethiopian Skirmishers, these warriors can provide the Aksumite faction a versatile infantry unit, ideal for fighting in built up areas, or defending against light melee rushes. The only issue is that these units aren't exactly cheap, consisting of Food, Wealth and Metal like the original Guardsman.

Overall strategy[edit | edit source]
Miles - unique Roman Imperial Age unit. the Miles is the upgrade of the Legio Evocata. It has drastically improved tactical stats, but like the Hirdmenn of Rise of Kings suffers a speed penalty. This makes the Roman army of the Imperial Age more reactive and less flexible than it was in the Classical Age.
Design notes[edit | edit source]
Miles skin: Just take back the old Rise of Kings militiaman, but give him a fancier shield and chainmail.
What about other factions that use Swordman? [sic]
Just recycle the Carthaginian swordsman.
