In Blood and Iron Shang is replaced by Chu, and is not playable.

As the ruler of the eponymous Chu territory, Chu can still raise medium chariots, but can also raise the same sort of warships as the Bach Viet, who also control Min and Nanyue and from their seat at Panyu.

Because Zhou and Chu have an alliance with one another, they can often be a threat to the Bach Viet, whose territories border those of Chu, and are most likely to be constrained by the latter should the Chu seize control of the Irawaddy Basin territory before the Bach Viet can get there. Equally, however, Chu can also be a threat to Zhou, because of her two armies — the Chu nation is most likely going to expand a fair bit, eventually attacking Yue or the Indians once it expands southwards.
