- Or how about Mycenaean Greece?
Middle Assyrian tutorial[edit source]
Part 1: Chariot Storm[edit source]
"It has been 2 centuries since we were made to bend the knee and pay homage to foreigners, but now we stand free and alone. But in order to survive, the sword cannot afford to sleep in the scabbard. For this reason, Assur stands ready, poised for war."
"The great king, Assur-Ubalit wishes you to command an expedition to Babylon. Recently, rebels laid their hands on Kara-Hardash, the king's son-in-law, and slew him, along with his queen - the great king's very own daughter. The king has given you several charioteers, with a simply order: Take Babylon, and make the killers of his daughter and son in law pay."
- Assur will invade Babylon, with a small force of charioteers and ships.
- Find friendly Merc Posts around the desert, and pick off enemy commanders and structures to gain wealth to recruit mercenaries.
- Capture cities, and use them to recruit more mercenaries before seizing BAbylon.
Part 2[edit source]
"With Babylon now in control, it is now time to consolidate our power, and make Assur the power it ought to be amongst all the other kingdoms of the world. Your task now is simple - march upon the Mitanni capital, and leave nothing standing, leave no one breathing."
- Assur invades Mitanni.
- Show how buildings work - temples, assemblies, etc.
- Destroy all Mitanni units and structures.
- (when this is done Assur should have 3 armies - 1 from Babylon, 1 from Mitanni)
Part 3[edit source]
- "Now that the borders of Assur are secure against our most dangerous foes, it is time for us to consolidate our rule. To the west the Arameans are massing in ever increasing numbers, and pose a danger to our southern borders. Seize control of their cities to stop their incursions cold in their tracks, and great glory shall be yours."
