Temples were not widespread during the Bronze Age. In place, the ancient world construct altars within specially dedicated enclosures for worship, with the larger temples being built for prestige and propaganda value alike by the upper crust.

In Warbirth, a Sanctuary is a building which expands its host city's influence on national borders, and also improves the host city's ability to defend itself, and functions as the spiritual focus of a settlement, tended by priests who in addition to ensuring the spiritual and physical wellbeing of townsfolk, also aid in the task of instruction and teaching. A Sanctuary also serves to conduct Religion religious and Attrition Attrition research. age of Level 1 Civics, reflecting how religion played an important role in civic identity, is required to access the Sanctuary.

Pedagogics Pedagogics[edit | edit source]

Knowledge is power, and the ability to argue one's point using rhetoric is a very powerful one indeed especially in societies where power is centralised in its rulers, whether it be a royal family or an oligarchy of elders. The four tiers of Pedagogics research are spread out amongst tso different buildings, with the Assembly hosting the final two. The first two levels of research, Literacy and Rhetoric, can be accessed only from the House of Worship itself.

However, in Rise of the Ancients, all research under this section is restricted to Roundel yin.png Babylon Indians Roundel media.png Roundel hatti.png Phoenicians Roundel greek.png Roundle qmt.png Roundle nub.png Roundel olmec.png.
