The Foundry plays a vital role in improving your metal output by increasing the yield of mines in its host city. Not only can the Foundry be enhanced further to improve this aspect, but it also hosts supply research which increases the logistical support available to your troops in the field.

The Mitanni, Gaul and Germans (RoA) can construct Foundries without requiring any Technological upgrades, making them highly efficient in the accumulation of resources from the early game.
