Overall strategy[edit | edit source]
It may on paper be inferior to a conventional Ballista, but the Catapult is a worthy successor to the Ballista. Being cheaper to construct and faster to build and move around (not to mention being more destructive when attacking) a Catapult is a useful upgrade for Roman and Greek armies, providing them with a powerful siege weapon for use against buildings and fortifications. The speed bonus also helps greatly as well, since one of the big disadvantges of the Ballista is that it is often too slow, cumbersome and costly to be used en masse.
Unit summary[edit | edit source]
- Lien Chau Crossbow — This Au Lac unique unit has +1 increased min and range, compared to the conventional Scorpion, but has no armour-piercing bonus and lower reload time.
Notes[edit | edit source]
Originally had an attack recharge time of 80 (Lien Chau Crossbow had 60). A more plausible rate of fire, 50, has since been given to this unit (the Ballista should have a recharge rate of 80 instead).
