Faction Overview Strategic Overview History
  • Strengths: Very expansive faction, invested mainly in defensive strategies and light raiding tactics.
  • Weaknesses: No late game units.UUs have little or no armour, very weak naval and siege components, almost no wonders.

As far as cavalry is concerned, the Garamantians have three

Garamantians have only one merc pool: the Libyan merc pool, consisting of Libyan Spearmen, and Libyan Chieftains and Libyan Skirmishers. It is true that both Egypt and Carthage also have access to these, but whereas the Garamantians have the full roster and share Chieftains with both Egypt and Carthage, Carthage may recruit only Skirmishers while Egypt can obtain only Spearmen. However, the Garamantians unlike Carthage or Rome cannot upgrade these units to the Berber group of mercenaries, and the lack of other advanced units (such as those recruited by both Carthage and Rome) verily damn the Garamantians to being a rather inferior faction, especially against factions with the ability to bypass Attrition, such as the Saka. As a result, the Garamantians usually work well on small to medium-sized all-land maps, with few opponents: on the sea, their lack of naval resources will ultimately turn against them.
