Faction Overview Strategic Overview History

While the Belgae can't build chariots, they however do have three important units that can be game-changers for them: these are formerly unique for the Celts and Germans in Age of Chariots - and they are the Nakwadaz Wataha, the Skaduganganz, and the Gaelaiche. This, coupled with their access to late-game cavalry make the Belgae highly proficient, especially in Iron Age warfare. However, with regards to mercenary units, the Belgae are severely underpowered: they are often outmatched by non-European cultures who are more technologically sophisticated and have access to more variegated mercenaries. Even the Germans, poor as they are, have the ability to recruit three out of the four Cimmerian merc units, thus making them more than a match for the Belgae as long as they have ample Wealth for use, counters for cavalry are aplenty. The Belgae's main strategy thus is to boom and to tech up quickly, before anyone else does, then use their army to rampage across the map, slaying all who get in their way before others are capable of mounting any resistance.
